DIY Superbloom
Hi TreePeople,
It’s Seed Week and native wildflowers have been blooming all spring! But did you know that you don’t have to go too far to catch a glimpse of these majestic superblooms?
Nursery Manager, Jack Smith shares great tips on how to create your own golden poppy superbloom in your yard.
Here’s some key things to know:
- Be sure to hand-weed any invasive plants to ensure enough space for your native flowers and place them in the trash so they don’t spread more seeds.
- Removing invasives helps break up soil that’s perfect to plant your poppy seeds.
- Golden poppy flowers have short lives but leave a green bean-like seed pod for you to share seeds with your neighbors!
While you wait for your superbloom to bloom, check out these photos of local native plants!
